Brian Putzke

Brian Putzke

President and CEO

With 40 years in the transportation industry, Brian has done it all: from loading, driving and dispatching the truck, to making the sale, to operating and billing the load. In 2001, he took the next logical step – founding Momentum Transportation USA in his garage in Jacksonville, Florida. From that humble beginning, Brian has successfully steered the company into a growing $100 million business that employs more than 75 people. Born and raised in Wisconsin, he is a proud Green Bay Packers Fan.

David Hoppens

David Hoppens

Vice President of Sales and Marketing

David brings over 30 years of transportation and supply chain services experience to Momentum Transportation USA. His sales, marketing and business unit leadership at companies including CSX Transportation, Pacer International and U.S. Xpress, make him the ideal person to lead sales and marketing. He has served as President and Chairman of the Transportation Marketing and Sales Association. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Florida.

Laura Homsey

CFO

Since 2007, Laura has brought her considerable accounting expertise to Momentum Transportation USA, helping make it the financially-sound and stable company it is today. Her areas of responsibility include accounting, human resources, and billing. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Jacksonville University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida.  She is a proud & avid Jacksonville Jaguars fan.

Doug Granger

Doug Granger

Vice President of Operations

Doug joined Momentum Transportation USA in January 2018, bringing more than 30 years of experience in Corporate Transportation Management, Carrier Relations/Carrier Development, Pricing, Procurement and Truckload Brokerage.  He has worked with some of the largest logistics companies in the industry, including Yusen Logistics, Penske and CEVA. He has his Bachelor’s of Science in Education from the State University of New York at Cortland, and also has his Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. He is originally from Wellsville, NY and is a diehard Buffalo Bills fan.

Shaelee Bonday

Shaelee Bonday

Director of Billing

Shaelee holds a Professional Designation in Logistics and Supply Chain Management certificate and has over 25 years of billing experience. She manages the billing team and is responsible for authorizing carrier payments, customer invoicing, collection assistance and reporting. Shaelee works diligently to ensure her team delivers timely and accurate customer invoicing.

Craig Haddock

Director of NATG Operations

Craig started with Momentum after graduating from The University of North Florida in 2007 with a degree in Transportation and Logistics. He has been a part of our new growth and development team helping Momentum grow into one of the top logistics companies in Jacksonville. He currently leads operations for one of our largest accounts and has been a pivotal member of the Momentum team in expanding our customer base.

James Carithers

James Carithers

Director Key Account, Sales & Operations

James has been with Momentum Transportation for 9 years, starting as an intern during college. He has worked in Tracking, Customer Satisfaction, Dispatch, and eventually worked his way up to the role of Operations Manager. He is now the Key Account Director for Sales & Operations, managing one of Momentum’s largest accounts and operations teams. James holds an MBA and Bachelor’s Degrees in both Transportation & Logistics and International Business from the University of North Florida.

Jim South

Director Heavy & Specialized

Jim has over 30 years of transportation experience, starting his career as a dry van and platform equipment driver. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from St. Xavier, he went to work for Landstar in various operation and regional roles. His comprehensive experience provides him with the insight to find solutions to customer’s challenging and complex needs. Jim is responsible for managing the operations and project management teams in our rapidly growing heavy haul and specialized freight sector.

Katie Morrison

Katie Morrison

Director of International, Intermodal & LTL Operations

As a licensed US Customs Broker, Katie is experienced in international logistics including US inland freight transportation, import and export ocean transport, documentation (for several government agencies such as the Federal Maritime Commission, TSA, Bureau of Industry and Security, US Census and Customs) and regulatory requirements. She is responsible for multiple teams for Momentum, including ocean, air, rail, drayage, intermodal and white glove.

Ongoing commitment to sustainability

Sustainability is an increasing concern. Momentum has a Green Alliance Sustainability Team tasked with finding ways to conduct business responsibly for our community, customers and environment. We believe that small things, done right can have a real impact.

As an agency, Momentum recycled 3,980 pounds of paper (in addition to all plastic and aluminum cans) in 2019, saving 33 trees and 13,930 gallons of water!

Through Landstar, many other sustainability initiatives are put into place in an effort to raise awareness on reducing environmental impact.
